MOZAIK PRETEKLOSTI OKRAJA KRANJ V LETIH 1929–1941

II.

MOSAIC OF HISTORY: THE DISTRICT OF KRANJ IN THE YEARS 1929-1941

PART II, THE PERIOD AFTER THE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN 1935 AND UNTIL THE OCCUPATION IN 1941

In the beginning of the first part of the article, the author presents the political and bureaucratic arrangement of Kranj in the years 1929–1941. The main theme of the article centres around the political parties, farmer classes, cultural-profane and youth group activities and organization. The individual themes are presented quite factually, but due to the sheer variety of the organizational structures, programmes and their realization, both in the catholic and in the liberal-unitarian camps, in relation to the relatively limited size of the area in question they are presented in a more synthetic fashion. In the second part of the article, from June 1935 to the collapse in April 1941, the article covers the political parties Jugoslovanska radikalna zajednica (JRZ), Mladina JRZ, stanovska Kmečka zveza and its Mladinska kmečka zveza, as well as the Mladinska zveza fantovskih odsekov from the catholic camp and the JNS and Mladinska JNS as well as the mladinska Zveza kmetskih fantov in deklet from the liberal camp. The article not only outlines the organizational structure of the two camps, but also presents their ideological foundations, programmes and activities. The article also sheds some light on the electoral campaigns of the two camps for the municipal elections 1936-1938 and the assembly elections in December of 1938, where JRZ took a majority win.
